MONITOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Description:
Monitors are critical to the successful operation of the Summer Food Service Program sites. They are the “eyes and ears,” providing valuable feedback about how the sites are operating by visiting sites on a regular basis and observing meal services. Additionally, Sponsors are required to conduct site reviews of the food service operations at least once during the first four weeks of operation.
Responsibilities:
• Check on site operations to ensure that site personnel maintain records
• Ensure the Program operates in accordance with the requirements
• Visit all sites within the first week of food service operations
• Review food service operations of all sites within the first four weeks of operation
• Prepare reports of visits and reviews
• Report unresolved or critical issues to the Director
• Revisit sites as necessary
• Suggest corrective actions for problems encountered
• Ensure that sites take corrective actions
• Conduct on-site training as necessary
Requirements:
• Must have a GED or high school diploma
• A valid South Carolina driver’s license for at least 1 year
• No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
• No DUIs or drug related driving offenses in the last 7 years
• Valid personal auto insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements
• 4-door vehicle
• A/C and heat must work
• Must have patience and be able to relate well with children
• Strong time management skills and work ethic
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, and cross-functional teams
• Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
